I started a critique of this beautiful painting several days ago, but lost my half-finished comments over the weekend. This is, perhaps, one of your most free-flowing paintings Royce - one can almost see your brush flitting quickly over the canvas applying beautiful swirling strokes and texture almost without your intervention. You create magical shapes and energy with only your yellow primed canvas, beautiful blue and white paints, but the magic is in the brush strokes. Even the little hints of the pencil under drawing accentuate the composition. I hesitate to call this a 'still-life' as it is as alive as any. A heavenly composition, indeed.
